Takht Sri Damdama Sahib

Known as Guru Ki Kashi, where Guru Gobind Singh Ji rested after intense battles, dictating the complete Sri Guru Granth Sahib from memory to Bhai Mani Singh Ji.

Takht Sri Damdama Sahib (Talwandi Sabo) was blessed by Guru Gobind Singh Ji in 1705 after the monumental battles of Chamkaur and Muktsar. Here, Guru Ji rested ("Dam ਲਿਆ") for over nine months, transforming this desert into a supreme academy of spiritual and literary wisdom called "Guru Ki Kashi". Here, Guru Ji recited the entire Sri Guru Granth Sahib from memory without missing a syllable, while Bhai Mani Singh Ji scribed the holy text. Guru Ji added the divine hymns of Ninth Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji, finalizing the eternal Damdami Bir.
