Takht Sachkhand Sri Hazur Sahib
The sovereign Takht on the banks of the Godavari where Guru Gobind Singh Ji crowned Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji as the eternal living Guru and merged with the Divine Light in 1708.
Takht Sachkhand Sri Hazur Abchalnagar Sahib marks the celestial site in Nanded on the Godavari River where Tenth Guru Gobind Singh Ji ended human Guruship forever in October 1708. Placing five paise and a coconut before Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji, Guru Ji bowed with immense reverence and commanded the Khalsa Panth: "Agya Bhai Akal Ki Tabhi Chalayo Panth, Sabh Sikhan Ko Hukam Hai Guru Manyo Granth" (By command of the Timeless Lord, the Panth was established; all Sikhs are commanded to accept the Granth as their eternal Guru). Maharaja Ranjit Singh constructed the magnificent marble Darbar and gold-gilded sanctum between 1832 and 1837. Today, it remains one of the holiest and most spiritually charged pilgrimage destinations on Earth.
